Steve Thompson,
Congratulations, subject to verification by a CAA examiner or at least a BGA official observer.
Ben,
Thanks for the Canal web cams, I hope it was recorded.
Gilbert,
You were on the Chinor Ridge?? SO if the wind was right the air is going up faster than you are going down QED.
Tony
Tony,Liz has insisted I send evidence so look at the e-mail I have sent for photo's, you've probably guessed we work in the same office

I hope you are wearing a safety harness when you read this I think you will need it! Last Saturday I got engaged to a wonderful, beautifull lady called Liz, well to be true this was the official engagement one knee, ring etc. She had said yes weeks before! A bit of a whirlwind romance as we have only known each other for 4 months and dating for 2. Glad to here your trip is progressing well and you do not seem to miss the flying.

Many thanks Tony
Tony

Hi Tony,
The only webcam I can find on the Panama canal is here:
http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html
Can you have a quick look and say if this is the right one?
Hi Tony,
Goodluck on 10th with Canal. I've posted some pics of our holiday, let me know when you've had a look so I can delete them. Still don't know what happened to last lot of pics I posted, will post them again.
Curiad, Cariad, Stargazer, Stargazer. Hi Tony, am keeping up with your emails via Jane. Well done in making it to the Canal. Your voyage so far sounds very interesting including the weather you have encountered. Curiad seems to be coping well. I expect you are looking forward to your passage through the Canal. I expect it will be a little different from the Sharpness Canal, through Gloucester Dock to Tewkesbury in Stargazer.
It was nice for you to have two other boats for company across the Carribean. How is the steel frame and the chart table standing up to the voyage so far? I expect the frame has been a big help in strengthening Cariad through some of the big seas you have encountered.
We are all OK. Our weather is beginning to pick up at last after alot of rain over 1" the other day.
Have had the programme for Upton. The usual bands are coming including Lamarote, etc. plus this time Chris Barber, Acker Bilk and the Passadena Roof Orchestra.
I expect you know by now that Tony Lidiard died recently. Heard the news from Bruce. Had a nice drop of beer the other evening that you would have enjoyed in the Till, Courage Directors.
Have started playing snooker in Whitchurch with Godfrey, John Evans and Brian Stockwell. We play on a Tuesday night and they all send their best wishes.
Well thats all for now, hope the passage through the Canal is OK, expect you are looking forward to entering the Pacific Ocean. All the best for a safe voyage to your next island.
Take care, Porgy, Bess, Jack, Josh but maily Peter and Gill.
Ben Hogkis
There is a web-cam at the Panama end of the Canal. I will be passing at very approximatly 14.00 hours local time (which is 19.00 hours your time) on Sunday the 10th subject to there being no delays on the canal.
Could you post a message on this site telling people how to see me and Cariad going through the locks. I will then confirm the date the day before when the sheduler confirms my transit.
Thanks Tony
Matt
Great will buy a new digital camera.
Keith
Thanks I should be able to get it in the "Free Zone".
Tony
Emailing me the pictures should work fine. Email them to me at matt (at) ye-hostelrie.co.uk only 2 or 3 at a time until we get broadband though, which we will have by 13th July this year.
Tony, I have found a universal laptop charger, you can check it out at www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk/p1664 The price in the UK is £17.01 + VAT.if this is okay let me know & I'll post it to you. Re the transformer I meant this literally, but for Ken's information, in the 60's I had a rotary transformer that would transform 12 volts DC to 240 volts DC! Went out sailing this weekend to clean the boat, good trip down channel but easterlies coming back, wind over tide and as we know in the Bristol channel not a pleasant trip, 7 knots over the land, down to 1.1 over the sea at times!
