Just read your latest report. I have really enjoyed your progress reports. Seems a great pity that Chris is no longer with you for the trip, and I hope that it was an amicable parting. I guess we will hear from him very soon. Sounds like a great voyage and adventure. I will keep an eye on your progress reports as I have so far. Good Luck !

Francisco,
Sorry you couldn't come to Cascics, but as you will see from my Progress Report we went straight to Sines. Cascics was reached at midnight because of the problems leaving Sao Martino. Did you realy want to go through that surf in a strange boat?? I am now on my own in Gibraltar and Hope to go to Morocco on Thursday.

Hi Both,
Glad to are doing ok and having a great voyage. We haven`t been to Newgale yet, due to the continuous drizzle etc. We are due to chance the weather this weekend posibly. Most of the gang are there already. It`s amazing that we are still at home. It just wasn`t worth going in the rain to set up and then be stuck there! So we`ve waited and had a long wait !!?? Thinking of you and Tony. Have a great month. Look forward to your next report.

It`s great to hear that you and Tony are getting on so well on your trip. If I had some time with Tony...I would have told him about your evil ways. I can appreciate the prank he fitted you up with the Salvage !! That`s sounds like a good one. It`s the 9th of August here and we haven`t been to Newgale yet due to weather problems. Good Luck to you both. Obviously you are having some adventure and a great time. Nice to read your reports. They are great. All the best Dave Julie and Josie

Anshul,
Good to hear from you again. Wish Alan all the best for his ski venture and would he let me have details. Italy was very expensive in March and as a result there were very few skiiers which was good in the day but there was no night life.
So may give it a miss this winter.
Am halfway down Portugal (300 miles south of Cape Finnistere) and all is going well. Am thinking of going back into the Pacific where its more civilized.

Hi Tony,

Nice to see you sailing again. How long is this trip going to be?
Alan has returned to UK for good, but plans to visit Kashmir as a ski guide with British skiers. He has set up a venture with a friend. So I hope to see him every ski season.

Fair winds & no whistling on the bridge!

We have shared many a drunken evening with Chris and I know both of you will hopefully have a great time, we will check on both of your progress regulary and we really hope you have a wicked time, what an adventure you lucky buggers, tell Chris Newgale won't be the same without him, don't let him drink too much rum.

OFF AGIN ON SATURDAY EVENING 6th JUNE AT 19.30
Yes I have at last got the house finished and CARIAD sort of ready at least to get across the Bay of Biscay to Spain. Hope some of you can make it down to Lydney dock to say good riddens etc the Yacht Club will be open and it’s a lovely setting on the side of the Severn estuary. Hope to go direct to L'Aber Rack on the NW corner of France not far from Brest.
Chris Everal is coming with me so he can have a winter in the Caribbean. That’s assuming we get across the pond OK. And if not we can stay in the Cape Verde Islands?
I will write a log on this site as I did before and try to get photos working. Chris is better at the computer than me so he may be a help setting it up.
Hope to see you on Saturday 6/6/09 before the off at 19.30.

Anshul,

Did you see another snow Leopard??? you must have come back down on the Indian side of the cess fire line OK or you would still be locked up.
I have just returned from Italy where the snow was great but the prices were rediculus (200 euroes for a 6 day ski pass).
Hope to set off for an Atlantic crossing on 7th June so don't know where I will be next winter.

Hi Tony,
Alan went to Kashmir for skiing over New Year's! He took me by surprise. I then convinced my wife to go with me end January. We got a lot of fresh snow! She picked up skiing skills & liked it. I managed to climb to the mountain top (after getting off the gondola) & ski down a lovely path.

Best,
Anshul
