Matt
Cariad did well again and has got me to Darwin where I will prepare for Indonesia and on. The Russian sailing ship sounds iffy as she will have had an engine as an emegency back up so it doesn't count against Cook and the 1814 expedition for me.
Check the Guinnes Book of records???

Hi Tony,
Went to Torquay on Monday for the start of the tall ships race, due to the size of the boats they only managed to get a few of them into torbay but they were expecting 50 boats in the race which was started by the duke of edinburgh. I've got some photos if you would like to see them. Also saw a sailing ship from russia that has circumnavigated 3 times and is about (or maybe has my russians not that good) broken the record for the furthest journey south by a ship under sail, to commerate the discovery of the antarctic by the russians. She didn't look like much though. Given the choice I would rather be on Cariad!

Good to hear from you. The Australia game was at 2.00 here so I haven't seen the penalty that the Aus PM said had robbed them???
So you've tried a maxi yacht. You learn more with a sailing dingy yachts are the same but just more complicated and slugish. See if you can find a keen dingy sailer and crew for them in races or get an easy to trail dingy like a fire ball and sail it single handed on the Exe. If you go over about 18 feet you have to moor it and need crew. You could get a share but I regreted doing it that way.
Is Anna OK??
I have updated the map, it's easy for me as I have the co-ords.

Hi Tony,
Sorry I haven't been updating the map for you, I haven't had access to the web for a while, or much time with the move and refurbishment of the restaurant, but I'm back online now, and have a bit of spare time aswell. I don't know if you've been following the world cup over there, England are through to the Quarter Finals and play Portugal next. Australia were unlucky to lose to Italy today in the last 16.
PS I've started looking for boats again, I was reading an account of a short cruise in a boating magazine written by someone with a 23 footer moored in Dittisham down to Falmouth and back and thought I really must do that again its so much fun. I will get some sailing in this year though even if I don't manage to get a boat. Anna bought me a days sailing out of Portsmouth on France 2 ( A 75 foot racing yacht that raced in the Americas Cup) for my birthday!

Good luck in Aus

Tony, Just a quick message to wish you well and to let you know that we are still following your adventure with great interest and greater envy! Never mind, perhaps when we retire we may be able draw on your experience and do something similar. Will have to brush up on sailing skills first though (been some 26 years since!) Cub still being looked after very well. When you are back in UK you are most welcome to come and fly her again. Kind Regards. Chris & Karen (Southport)

Sorry to hear of the loss of bank cards, and the gain of a fever.Hope the fever has cleared up now, and that the replacement cards have arrived. Ken

To All,
I have been having some problems here in Aus caused by loosing my credit and debit cards I think it's called critical cash flow. The bank say they sent new cards on 15/5/06 but as yet they havent arrived. So I may well move north in the next day or 2 when the mild bout of fever I've got gets better. The yahoo email seems to be playing up They have changed me on to .co.uk wher I was set up .com  in Fiji.
So it's :-        yachtcariad (at) yahoo.co.uk

Peter Kirby and all at White Hall,
Sorry for the delay in replying (see above) the osmossis is faily extensive and is caused by water coming through leaks deck fittings, toe rail, rigging points, ventilators, anchorlocker bulkhead, or who knowns where. But until these leaks are sorted there is no point in re-epoxying the hull. So I still hunting for it and haven't found it in the 5 years I've had the boat.
May replace the toe rail if I go to Tyland.
Sorry to here you were crook hope your over it and that Gill hasn't put you on to painfull a fitness programme. Have you thought of getting a marina berth at Upon??? I know it's pricy but closer to home and the river would be a change of seen.

Matt,
could you update the map please. Line is Fiji to Noumea (New Calidonia) to Bundaberg.

Today, the temp in the docks is almost 30c, with a pressure of 1032! Last week is was pushing 14c with a pressure of 990. Bet you miss England! But I think summer has finally arrived, well, we've had 2 days of it! We have now moved onto the boat and are frantically storing things. We will set sail around 19th June, first stop Ilfracombe to anti foul then off onto the Celtic raid as per our web site. Good to hear from you, Keith & Pam

El Caderro
Vidia & Kenneth, they take all fresh fruit veg and honey just the same as Noumea, but the quarentine charge is $160 Au. for the inspection all the rest is free. They were very efficient just call VMR 688? on channel 81 half an hour before the river mouth. They will notify customs and you clear in at Port Bundaberg Marina, very easy. Must dash.

Hello Tony, We are good, still in NC and was wondering what kinds of foodstuff are you allowed, did they take any cans from you etc, what about the boat bottom conditions and boat equipments , like lift raft etc. Please send an email to our address on the boat to inform us if we should think of making a stop there. Did you get our weather info via the ssb????? Looking forward to hearing from you, Vidya & Kenneth

Tony- I have been giving some thought on building a web site and I was wondering if you might put me in touch with your wed developer/ web master???

I am looking at having a site much similar to yours (keeping it simple), although, with the addition of video and a couple variations. This site (skipfreedom.com) or (cosmonaughtical.com) will help me in the media ideas I am going to try and implement, ahead, along the way.

I am very pleased at the way your site is linked and is user friendly. If at all possible, could you give me an introduction to you web designer, so I may ask him some question about acquisition.

Thanks, Tony and all the best!

Graham Vaughn,
It will be very difficult to send anything to me for several months as I am off around Australia then accross the Indian Ocean, starting next week. Could you ask the soliciter for an idea of the sort of letter he requires from me to authenticate the deed and let me have details at my email address yachtcariad (at) yahoo.co.uk  and I will write. There are lots of internet cafes etc so your message will reach me in a week at most.

Hi Tony
Glad to hear your voyage is going OK.

The reason for this note is, When you sold your share to the company there should have been some documents signed by you.
I am told you gave a note to Bruce & Wendy so they could sign things for you. I have checked with the legal people and unfortunately this is not the correct power of attourny.
Is there an address I could send this paperwork to so that you could sign them. Bearing in mind of course that it would take ten days or so to reach you.
Your hep with this would be greatly appreciated.
                All the best
                              Graham Vaughan Snr (chairman)

Hi Tony, congratulations to you and Cariad on reaching Australia.  Yes, you have conquered the two big Oceans, Atlantic and Pacific with one more to go, I'm sure you will do this one OK.
Have you yet decided which way to go when you get to the Cape?  Hope the Osmosis is not too bad.  You're in a good place and good weather to get the work done and the boat sorted for the next voyage.
I hear Keith and Pam are hoping to do the same.  I wish them all the best.
We have closed the business - A.J.K. & Son and have ceased trading.
Gill and I have at last decided to retire.  We still have a lot of clearing up to do and it will be another 2-3 months before we are finally able to say we have retired.  We shall have a sale of the machinery and timber stock first.  I shall then have time to make the Agamenmon and Endeavour at my leisure.  I have also had 6 days in hospital and am OK now.  Everything went well.  I have decided to keep Stargazer one more season then perhaps sell her.  Might crew for the Captain.  He said he wants a good helmsman.
We have had some terrible weather here lately.  Deep lows coming in from the S.W. with squally wind and heay rain with sleet and thunder.  Have only had about one week of summer weather so far.  Heard on the local H & W news there is a flood caution issued for the River Lugg.  The Wye is very full but not flooding yet.
Well thats all for now.  Look forward to reading your next email and progress report.
  Take care and safe sailing.
Peter, Gill, Porgy, Bess, Jack and Josh.

Hey Tony. Welcome to Aus! Weather wise, Sydney is bloody cold, thinking of relocating life to Tasmania where everything is soooo much warmer next year. Hope Bunderburg is treating you well and is toasty warm. James will be arriving in Bunderberg (lucky bugger) in about the 3rd week of June with Bob on Evening Star. He really hopes he'll be able to catch up with you if you are still around. Have been introduced to your blog. Enjoying reading the tales.

Hope you're having a great day .

Cheers

Bec
