Hi Tony,
Tried emailing you but no success
We hope that you are well. We had a look at your website it looks like you had a pretty rough voyage across the Indian Ocean. We hope the repairs are going well.
Many thanks for the two postcards from the Maldives and the Seychelles and for Natalie's pressie.
Charlie is here on break for a week but returning to Loei on Friday (01 June). Nueng has given up working in the restaurant but her sister continues as cook. Bye for now. Nueng and Charlie (Phuket, Thailand).

To All,
Have arrived in Hellville, Nosy Be, Madagascar. Communications are a problem at the moment but hope to sort it out soon; Have put in reports for the Seychelles and the trip to Madagascar.

John Nash,
i am using a Pacific Wind Pilot for vane stearing and a Raymarine ST2000 tiller pilot. The windpilot is very powerfull but you go with the wind so if theres a wind shift as you sleep be carful. The tiller pilot is very accurate but underpowered in strong winds.
The best system is any of the windvane systems that have there own rudder enhancement such as Windpilot, Arris, Cape Horn etc but drive them with a tiller pilot, Im told an ST1000 is sufficient so you use very little electricity and the auxillary rudder gives you great power.

I cannot believe you have come so far.  You will be home soon at this rate.  Glad to see that you are safe and well. Unfortunately we do not go to the Til anymore having returned to The Cross Keys.  Still best of luck wherever you go next and no doubt will see in Ross soon.

Anshel,
Gulmarg seems to have been a long time ago. Good memories exccept for the lack of a bank. Seychelles are super and I may be moving on again next week to catch the lighter current off Cape St Andry (North end of Madagasker) as the south east trades are just coming north.

Danelle,
Yes I have made it and sent off another card. Your scrap book will soon be full??? Good luck with the weding preparations.

Bonjour

Hope you made it to the Seychelles safely, still receiving the cards which are a joy to receive.  All quiet on the western front so to speak, wedding plans coming along but do have another 12 months to be getting on with those!  Take Care xx

Alan,
Sorry to hear about your sister it must have been a big shock for you. We were so cut off at Gulmarg, I didn't expect there to be so little communications or no bank and we did ski hard during the day which made the time fly by.
You must have been jet lagged when you got back to the UK as we had been traveling all day before you had to get the flight from India to UK. I was a bit phased after the night flight to Bankok followed by 2 very heavey days getting the boat into the water.
Give my regards to Anchel (how did the meeting with his new girl go???).
We must ski again so keep in touch next year it's Gresseny in Italy first week of March.

Hi Tony, Glad to hear you're still charging along! I only made it back to Bangalore 2 weeks ago after we left you in Srinagar. Got the news at Dehli airport that my sister had passed away while we were in Gulmarg, so I jumped straight on to the next flight back to the UK. A very sad end to what had been a great time. I know you're leaving for the Seychelles tomorrow so best of luck for the trip and I hope you'll drop us a line when you get there. I'll be meeting Anshul later for a few drinks so we'll have some of that Old Monk to see you off! Take care mate.

To All,
Will be leaving Male in the Maldives on Friday 6th April for the Seychells it's 1,300 miles so it will take 10 to 20 days depending on the wind. This is a crossing through the dodrums so it's hard to know how long for sure.

Tommy
Good to hear your OK. Was in India last week skiing on the boarder with Packistan. they have a problem with using explosives to distodge avalanches. The Blue Fin uses some sort of compressed air pulse to activate the sismic sensors could you ask if this would work in snow. Gulmarg skiing was very dodgy with foot wide cracks in the snow cover in places and all the adjacent valleys had avalanched.
The compressed air would make it safe and as the noise level would be low it would not invite 155 mm return fire from Pak.
I am booking out to-day from Thailand for the Maldives, Syschells and Madagascar so I may be out of touch for 4 to 6 weeks.

Hi Tony, it would seem that your progress report of 28th Jan went onto our web site. Perhaps you would like to re-type it on your site, I have deleted it from our site.

Hi Tony...

I had been thinking of my time at Savusavu...and thinking of those photos taken by Becky under the waterfall ...and somehow I came across your website!!!....the universe always provides huh??!!

I remember asking Becky would she take a photo of Roy.... as i gazed across to see him squatting bare chested on a rock..... (I nick named him Tarzan/Jungle-boy )..the vision  really captured his beautiful gentle spirit.. submerged in nature...

I have sent you a long email to yachtcariad (at) yahoo.com...it however is not going through..i checked spelling etc....???..so let me know...

We are all obviously still in shock and devastated my Roy's sudden departure..but we too know he died peacefully doing what he loved.... he touched so many lives with his special, gentle and loving spirit and thus surely will be missed by so,so many...we are all blessed to share our own individual connections with him....and will move forward  with so many happy memories and teachings from him.....

I look forward to hearing from you...and happy to hear your sailing adventures are still fulfilling you and that you are safe out there...

With love,

Martha. (artistmartha (at) yahoo.com.au)

Hi James,
Becky did take photos at the water fall. I think Martha was also there, got very anti-photos as I couldn't get them on to the web site.
Put the first coat of resin and glass on Criad below the water line to-day and hope to complete my shore work by 23/2/07 then off to Chagos or the maldives.
How is Hawii treating you. They say the hang gliding is very good. You would have liked the Ashmore Reef.
We are all still in shock over Roy. Todd, Josh and Hidi represented us at the Wake but it's all a quarter of the world away.
Good to hear from you James let me have your email at yachtcariad (at) yahoo.com.

Hi Tony,

Same deal here, it´s either into the Med or across the pond. We´re going into the Med and probably Morocco, and perhaps the other way down the Suez, perhaps our paths will cross in the Caribbean, who knows, hope so. enjoy your skiing.

Love Keith and Pam

PS tried to email you this message but it failed so here it is

Hi Tony,

I came to your site today not expecting to find the news about Roy.  I believe the two medical students, Jimmy and Bec, have some pics of Roy and company in Savusavu.  I'll contact them and see what they have.
